Hi Fares; So sorry for the delay regarding Maher Arrar, however, that man was compensated for whatever he so claimed happened to him while being in Syrian custody, you may have read or heard that he was offered the lump sum of $11 or $12 million Canadian dollars plus an official apology, now hopefully this will never become a matter of chain reaction and everyone will be claiming being tortured abroad while in reality they’re enjoying extended holidays.

Frank, Canadians authorities are not dumb and they know what happened to Maher in Syrian prisons. They bear responsibilities for tipping the americans on false info and the Americans bear responsibility for sending him to Syria where they knew he’ll be tortured or killed.
People don’t enjoy faking up stories like that and everything happened under the authorities watch. Your concern is valid but does not apply there and the guy was not interested in money but more for proper actions to be taken in the future. He definitely did not enjoy any of that and it was by no mean a holiday unless you consider being beaten and tortured every day some kind of pleasure, but I don’t think you are that sick.
