Standing up to the Tyrant of Damascus

March 4, 2008

Thanks Maureen for sending the pictures of the Amnesty protest in London, can’t but post them again!

Hoping for a better tomorrow, the middle east current situation is heading for a big explosion…unless a miracle happens…Bashar needs to show some dramatic wisdom and do a 180 shift to avoid a lot of bloodshed…opening up and being flexible is his only card, being a hardliner won’t get him anywhere.

Wow, there are so many white Syrians at the rally.

Maybe all the Syrians were protesting at Palestine’s most bloody day in 2 decades.

Flatus, you are right last time I checked Bashar works for Tel Aviv so thanks for the advice.

Now Are Michel Kilo, Aref Dalila, Kamal Labwani, Fida Horani, Anwar Bunni and all the people imprisoned to satisfy Bashar’s inferiority complex…are they imprisoned in Israeli or Syrian prisons…and who hold their fate, Israel, Iran, Lebanon or Syria!!! are you telling me that Bashar can’t free them if he wanted to????

Sasa go enjoy Wassim’s company, Syrians as you know don’t protest out of fear, does not mean they are cheering on their bankrupt regime as they cause disasters in the region and sell the palestinians out to enjoy their resistance power…

Bashar does not give a damn about any blood spilled as long as he can dance around it and claim victory just like Mishaal and Hanniya the cowards who twist facts and claim victory when peoples lives are being destroyed and gambled with.

Israel is of course not innocent but their actions are predictable so the extremists just know how to push their buttons to trigger the killing machine to go on display knowing fully well that the blood of children will improve their stand!!! very sick if you ask me.

Did you guys see this video on youtube:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHF3Qd9knCE
Are we going through a new phase? Is all this timed with the increasing pressure on syria from not only the west but the arab world? Is it a coincidence that this is happening a month or so before the start of the hariri trial…
I just hope the opposition is united… it’s about time

    An appeal for solidarity lawyer

    2008/05/07

    block quote
    Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear
We appeal to you that, proceeding from the common belief on the importance of human solidarity to defend the issues of freedom and human rights in our increasingly interdependent unity world day after day.

In our country Syria, the ruling authorities are still going to suppress basic freedoms, in violation of human rights and contradict international charters. It uses not only its security services in multiple, but they also use the Syrian judiciary, and persists in the denigration of jobs and the abolition of all his independence.

Here is today the government pave the way for a trial would be the biggest political trials in the history of Syria, which the black trial will be the twelve leading member of the coalition of the Damascus Declaration, to the Criminal Court, after what had been arrested in instalments following the convening of the National Council of the Declaration of 1 / 12 / 2007, where they were interrogated by the examining magistrate in Damascus on 28/1/2008 third, and then bring them more than two months after the judge assignment, which issued its charge sheet (annex) against them recently in 16/4/2008.

From here, we in the coalition of the Damascus Declaration, as part of the opposition movement which represents the aspirations of our people for freedom and democracy in Syria, we appeal to you, on this occasion, to the broadest campaigns of solidarity and protest against this trial to come.

We also wish to participate in creating and supporting the international defence team of the detainees listed, and we expect him to contribute in the field monitoring conditions of fair trial standards of international law and the International Bill of Human Rights activist and participate in hearings planned conversion to a new opportunity for progress on the path of dignity and human freedom.

    Damascus 1/5/2008
