Please Free Fayez Sara Now
January 8, 2008
Nothing surprise me from Damascus these days except to say “thakhanouha” (going overboard)…unless they have decided to transform all the prisons into cultural ones and make sure all the intellectuals unite inside them. Fayez Sara is a respected writer who always tread carefully between the lines and there is no reason to arrest him at all…I read his articles in the past just like I read those of Michel Kilo before he was arrested and he was pleasant to read.
Anyway why is this happening??????????????????????????????
Why the Syrian regime keeps showing his middle ages and barbaric mentality !!!!!!!!!! are doctor Bashar and Asma Al Asad really ruling the country? or some low security guys who decide to humiliate the civilized people…anyway if Mr Bashar wants to portray his intellectual wise image then he better act soon and change the mentality of his regime, stop these arrests and allow for some breathing space. If he can’t rule over the security animals then he should retire with all the billions that he made (sorry stole) unless he is a retard who enjoys the glory and all his talks about being educated were just for mere consumption.
Clearly I am not optimistic, and I don’t think any positive change is happening soon based on their mercurial policies in Lebanon…they could sing different tunes and stop arresting people in Syria for any hope to shine. They are playing their spoiler role in Syria and the region perfectly…we can call them the NEW or BIZARRO ZIONISTS, destroying the region better than Israel ever did.
on the Margin, another sad arrest for a blogger Tarek Bayassi
Here is more from Elaph on Fayez (arabic)

and he is some sarcastic humour out of this, as a comment on the arrest
SYRIANS RISE UP AND REJECT THE HUMILIATING STATUS QUO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally I applaud Bilawal (Son Of Benazir Bhutto who said today)
“I believe that the problem is that dictatorships feed extremism, and once the United States stops supporting dictators, we can successfully tackle the extremist problem as well,”

O’ Syrian Sunnis we are once again urging you to do what you have to do. O’ Syrian Sunnis you must rise up and destroy this alawite dog son of the alawite dog and the alawite bitch. O’ Syrian Sunnis the time has come to put an end to this foolishness of the alawite house of canine dogs. O’ Syrian Sunnis needless to say no people on the face of this planet would live under the rule of the canine dogs not to mention alawite canine dogs sons of alawite dogs. So why should you? O’ Syrian Sunnis, your fellow Sunnis throughout the world are dismayed at the disgrace you are living. O’ Syrian Sunnis you owe it to your honor, the honor of your offsprings and to the rest of humanity to make sure that canine dogs do not rule over honorable humans and especially honorable Sunnis like you. O’ Syrian rise up NOW and destroy the alawite canine dogs once and for all.

Proud Syrian Sunni, ok, I guess you’ll keep posting the same comment, which I already deleted. I don’t approve of this comment and the tone of it. You are helping the regime here…
We are all Syrians whether Sunnis, Alawites, Christians or others…I am not against the regime because they are alawites but because they represse freedom in Syria and take it backward not to mention keep the country always on edge and under “pressure” and external “threats”!!!
Anyway I don’t think you will get anywhere with your message and here is not the forum for it.

Yes you’re right we’re all Syrians but the the Sunnis form the vast majority (over 90%). So let’s not beat around the bush. It is the Sunnis that are most eligible and it is them who have the most loyalty. With all due respect to the minorities, it is the Sunnis that MUST rule. It is their natural right due to their majority status. They also are the major community which is capable to effect a change. I don’t believe the minorities have the will or the ability to achieve that no matter how much they raise their voices (such as in your case). So let’s get straight to the point: the Sunnis have the major stake and must have the main say. Minorities of course will be respected as long as they stay in line. The tone of the above post only refers to the ruling dogs of this minority of alawites. It does not extend to the rest of this alawites.

PSS,
You miss the point. If you don’t want to insult all Alawis then why do you attach the word Alawi to every insult directed at the regime. It is not the fact that they are Alawis that matters, it is the fact that it is a repressive regime, and by the way there are plenty of Syrians of all sects that are complicit in this regimes’ actions. The last thing we need is the Lebanonization of Syria

Abu Karim,
I am for Syria going back to its roots. Syria has always been the hub of Sunnism and I’m not ashamed to say it loud like somde Syrians who like to sound politically right at the expense of their true identity. If you are a Sunnis you should be proud of it and never hide it Yes the alawite who have usurped power are dogs and they should be called as such. What the big dog who went to hell few years ago did to the country is unforgivable. He is more than a dog. He should be cursed day and night as the faithful agent of the devil.

PSS wake up man!!! we are in the 21st century and not living a 1000 year ago. You want to curse Assad go ahead but do not mix religion and politics specially in Syria (it used to be more tolerant in the past I guess), that is what the regime does and you are speaking their language.
From your IP, you had better comments in the past so if you are truly seeking change you need to leave religion aside.

Abu Karim,
You are right. We definitely don’t want a Lebanonization of Syria.
PSS,
Ok here’s a suggestion for you. Instead of posting the bullshit above, you’d better find your way to Assad “The alawite dog, son of the alawite bitch” and bomb yourself and kill him…. This way, we’ll achieve 2 things
1. killing an oppressor/dictator.
2. reducing the potential of more Suni extremests such as yourself in Syria.

PSS,
As a Sunni, and a proud one at that, I find your comments most disgusting, insulting and demeaning to Syrians in general.. Sunni; Shia, Alawite, Christians, Druze, etc, etc, etc..
Syria is for ALL Syrians, from all denominations..
As Abu Kareem pointed out, people from all sects are complicit with the rotten Regime. Equally, there are honest, freedom-loving, patriotic Syrians in all of those sects… Take Aref Dalila and Michel Kilo, just as two examples..
What determines your worthiness of being ‘Syrian’ is not what religion or sect you are born into, but what you actually do to strengthen the fabric of our beloved Country..
While the majority of Syrians might be Sunnis (although I strongly dispute the 90% you quote.. Where’s your evidence for that figure??..), Syria belongs equally to all of us..

Hi Fares and happy New year.
Glad to see that you are still breathing life into the campaign to free our prisoners.
What wonderful responses from you, anonymous, Syrian Brit and abu kareem to PSS. The gentleman is clearly too upset and frustrated to see that politicising religion is exactly what the regime thrives on.

Just a quick note. The Syrian intelligence has detained Riad Saif. Germany condemned the move and called for his immediate release…
How tragic…
